Treatment and Staff

Asana Recovery believes that every client’s journey to recovery is different. Before beginning treatment, incoming residents first undergo a comprehensive intake evaluation that helps the medical director design the most effective possible individualized care strategy tailored to address the unique needs, goals and circumstances of the person. When necessary, clients immediately transition into detox. Asana Recovery provides a medical detox program that includes around-the-clock supervision and medication that helps mitigate unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. While the length of detox varies from client to client, the process typically lasts between three and 10 days. Upon completion, many clients transition into the residential phase.

Asana Recovery employs a multifaceted approach to care that integrates an array of therapeutic methods including holistic practices, life skills, nutrition, psychoeducation and evidence-based therapies. Clients engage in individual and group therapy sessions rooted in CBT and DBT as well as EMDR to treat trauma as a causal component of current conditions. In addition, clients learn about the disease of addiction, and participate in a range of fulfilling holistic practices like mindfulness meditation, yoga, grounding and music therapy. Residents spend a lot of time outdoors, be it walking on the beach, playing volleyball, meditating or simply enjoying community meals. The length of residential care is flexible, with clients typically in treatment between 20 and 30 days depending on the individual needs.

The multidisciplinary team at Asana Recovery includes MDs, Master’s-level therapists and clinicians, support personnel and personal trainers. For individuals in need of dual diagnosis support, the facility provides medication management.

Clients work hand in hand with case managers to institute a personalized aftercare plan.
