Arete Detox Review
Arete Detox is a member of the Delphi Behavioral Health Group, which operates a number of treatment programs and sober living residences throughout southern Florida. Arete opened its doors in 2016 and is located in Pembroke Pines, just north of Miami. It is equipped to treat co-occurring disorders and supports clients who are using the 12 steps.
Clients usually detox at Arete for a week, though in special circumstances that can be extended. As clients near the end of their stay, Arete works to find the appropriate next level of treatment within the Delphi Behavioral Health Group or elsewhere.
Accommodations and Food
Arete occupies an upscale treatment facility with 19 beds. Clients have roommates and rooms feature TVs and comfortable, modern décor. Clients are not permitted phones or personal computers while in treatment but family members are encouraged to send notes and call to check in on their loved ones. Arete’s on-site chef provides three meals each day, taking into account clients’ preferences and nutritional needs.
Treatment and Staff
Clients are medically supervised by a physician, nurses and behavioral technicians. Once they’re stabilized, clients can attend daily group therapy. Groups are led by Master’s-level therapists and addiction counselors such as LMHCs and CAPs. Groups provide peer support for early recovery issues and may also teach processing skills using CBT. Arete also brings 12-step facilitators in two to three times a week to lead AA/NA meetings.
Clients with co-occurring disorders can be assured that the treatment team closely monitors their mental health medication. It will also arrange consultations with their outside treatment team or Arete’s consulting psychiatrist when necessary.
Extras
For families in conflict, Arete can provide phone counseling for clients and their loved ones. Arete works with each client to find an appropriate residential or outpatient program in which to continue post-detox treatment.
