The Angels House is a luxury sober living facility for women only in the beautiful beach community of Malibu, California. Founded in 2011, it was created with the goal of creating a home away from home in a gorgeous setting that provides stability and comfort, allowing clients to focus on sobriety. This relaxing retreat is perfect for women who are seeking to heal their minds, bodies and souls while enjoying a fabulous living experience.
Accommodations and Amenities
The Angels House is set on an acre of private land just steps away from famous Zuma Beach. The house is a two-story European style villa that is surrounded by a lush garden. It has five large bedrooms, all with ocean views and private balconies, perfect for morning coffee, meditation and reflection. Three rooms have two queen-sized beds and two are available for a private stay at an additional cost. Three of the rooms have private bathrooms and the other two share one, each with marble tub and shower. The master suite’s private bath boasts an extravagant jacuzzi tub.
The entire house is beautifully decorated with state-of-the-art appliances. Clients don’t need to worry about cleaning up because housekeeping is included. Regular access to a large, flat screen TV in the living room, outdoor BBQ, a sun deck and secluded outdoor spaces on the grounds make it an ideal location for residents to recharge in privacy.
Each client gets their own mini-fridge and basic groceries are provided. Monday through Friday, The Angels House provides a chef to cook dinner for the clients, while the weekends are typically shared meals that are ordered out. Breakfast is offered as self serve and lunches are left up to residents.
Rules and Regulations
Angels House is a very relaxed sober living facility with a focus on transitioning back into work, school and family life though they require all residents to be enrolled in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Transportation is provided to AA or NA meetings all over Malibu, along with help finding a sponsor or help integrating back into work or school. They welcome personal therapists and psychiatrists into the home for private sessions or are happy to recommend someone. Additionally, weekly random urine analysis tests are given to every resident.
Staff is on site 24 hours a day to offer guidance to residents but there is no medical staff. Recommendations for and transportation to medical doctors is available upon request.
The Angels House understands that pets can be therapeutic and provides a safe place for them alongside their owners. The home features a large, park-like backyard that is any dog’s dream. Other perks include a gym membership, weekly yoga with guided meditation and frequent social outings organized by the house managers. Many weekends have group movie nights and cookouts.
Options that are not included in the fee, but available upon request, include private yoga, dance classes, paddle boarding, sober companion services, a private driver and horseback riding lessons.
The Angels House provides an environment of comfort and support. The sublime surroundings, caring house managers and outstanding amenities allow for relaxation, self-focus and reflection.
