There are private and semi private gender-specific rooms available at this location, and resort style amenities like a private pool, on site gym, elegantly decorated rooms, hardwood flooring throughout, and floor to ceiling windows that let in the beautiful Southern California sunshine.
There is a screening room, den, dining room and state of the art kitchen, where a world-renowned chef prepares delicious and nutritious meals daily. These meals are not only tasty and gourmet, but also have menus that were designed by a nutritionist who takes each clients’ needs into account to ensure the most beneficial and healthful experience.
Treatment and Staff
The individualized, client focused treatment aims to provide education, insight and tools to heal. For those who come to this location in need of detox services, Ambrosia is able to set up a safe, 24 hour a day, medical detox before transferring the client to the residential program. During the 30 days in treatment, clients partake in about seven group therapy session per week and one individual session. Treatment also incorporates regular visits with a staff psychiatrist and physician, psychoeducation classes and lectures. They are encouraged to attend daily off-site AA or NA meetings (transportation is provided) and explore holistic options like art and music therapy.
Treatment modalities include CBT, ACT, EMDR, DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI). There are also relapse prevention and coping techniques, grief counseling and anger management groups available. Clients who come to Ambrosia with a dual diagnosis are eligible for additional therapy. There are highly specialized staff members who offer slightly different accreditations at this location than in others. In addition to the clinical staff who are LCSWs, Master’s-level MFTs and medical staff, there is also a doctor of Chinese medicine, a dietician and holistic herbalist and nutritionist.
Extras
When the clients aren’t participating in treatment, there are recreational and stress-reducing activities offered, like twice weekly massages, Reiki healing, acupuncture and guided meditation. There are also weekly on-site yoga classes taught be a highly experienced instructor who specializes in healing trauma and facilitating wellness.
There is a family program offered twice a month at this facility, as well as free aftercare and alumni programs.
