ALT Recovery Group Review
With clinics in Las Cruces, New Mexico and Chatsworth, California, ALT Recovery Group is a CARF-accredited behavioral health organization that provides a range of flexible services to clients struggling with opioid addiction. All programs are outpatient-based and focus on providing Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) along with case management and counseling.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning a program, all participants go through an initial intake and assessment process to help the staff members determine their needs and medical history. While inpatient detox is not available, the program is essentially akin to ambulatory detox with additional therapy and ancillary services.
Though each program varies, all clients typically attend both individual and group therapy with evidence-based treatment practices including CBT and DBT. There are a range of MAT options for participants including methadone, buprenorphine and naltrexone dosing sessions, all with medical supervision. While 12-step participation is not a requirement of the program, clients may be encouraged to attend or referred to local meetings. Case management and therapy services typically cover a range of basic life skills and help clients with legal issues, finding employment and stable housing. Those in need of dual diagnosis support will likely need to find additional help elsewhere.
The staff at ALT Recovery Group consists of LPCs, LCSWs, nurses, case managers and additional Master’s-level staff.
Extras
The program also has special services and guidance available for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. Participants in need of additional aid not available through the clinic can work with their case managers to get referrals and information on other resources in the area. Once clients complete their dosing regimen, their case managers can also help them set up discharge and aftercare plans as necessary. Both court-ordered and self-referred participants are welcome to attend.

In all, ALT Recovery Group is straight-forward program which provides Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services to clients struggling with moderate to severe opioid addiction. In addition to their dosing services, the facility also provides flexible case management along with group and individual counseling to help participants get their lives back on track. Although anyone in need of increased supervision or additional psychiatric help may need to seek additional services elsewhere, ALT Recovery Group remains a strong resource for the population it is designed to serve.
