Alpine Recovery ServicesThe Basics

In 1992 Alpine Recovery Services, then known as M.K. Standish and Associates, opened its doors as a treatment center for chemical dependency. Ten years later, the center was renamed Alpine Recovery Services. Since 2006, it has expanded, now with two locations in Arlington and Lynwood, Washington that offer flexible day or evening outpatient programs ideal for those looking to maintain their work and family life while receiving treatment.

Treatment and Staff

Both Alpine Recovery Services locations offer an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) as well as an outpatient option. Treatment begins with an assessment with an addiction counselor to figure out what is best for each individual client (a common step down program for those coming out of residential treatment).

If the IOP program is recommended, it is typically a nine to 12 week treatment plan that involves group therapy four times a week, for two hours at a time, either from 9 to 11 am, or an evening session from 6 to 8 pm. Within this time frame, each client also receives three individual sessions.

The outpatient treatment program, also known at Alpine Recovery Services as continuing care or aftercare, is typically for those who first take part in the IOP program or have come from another treatment facility. Continuing care is, on average, 26 weeks long and offers group therapy once a week for an hour-and-a-half.

Alpine Recovery Services uses the 12 steps and requires that, in addition to the treatment received at the center, clients also maintain a minimum of two AA or NA meetings a week. Therapy methods include Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT), a form of CBT that focuses on becoming more socially conscious.

Staff in both the Arlington and Lynwood locations consists of nationally certified chemical dependency counselors, addiction specialists and members of the Washington State Association of Independent Outpatient Providers.

Extras

Alpine Recovery Services strongly encourages participation in the family program provided at the center. Also available are classes like Rehab Awareness, a 26-week long program specifically designed for those who are at risk for relapse, and Positive Choices. This an educational treatment system for those diagnosed with a milder form of a substance abuse condition; its aim to assist in guiding clients into making different choices regarding drugs and alcohol.

In Summary

The treatment program at Alpine Recovery Services focuses on individual needs. While the result is the same, Alpine Recovery Services emphasizes the importance of specific treatment plans for each client. Utilizing methods involving the 12 steps, education, accountability and in-depth therapy sessions, Alpine provides a solid base for continuing success in recovery.
