Residents stay in upscale shared bedrooms equipped with two full-sized beds, new linens, nice furnishings and paintings on the walls. There are therapy rooms, common rooms for socializing and exercise areas. Family involvement is a key element in the treatment experience. As a result, residents can have visitors daily. The facility also provides around-the-clock medical supervision by a nursing team.
Residents enjoy a healthy and tasty menu designed by Culinary Arts. Aloria offers a supportive, structured atmosphere for individuals with eating disorders. Many clients eat alongside a nutritionist or support staff.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning treatment, residents undergo a comprehensive intake assessment that includes a medical and psychiatric evaluation as well as an account of substance use. A team then designs the most effective personalized treatment strategy tailored to address the unique needs and circumstances of the individual client. When necessary, the facility refers clients to a partnering detox program. Aloria offers age-specific tracks for adults and adolescents between the ages of 14 and 17. Family members work with the intake team to design the ideal care plan. The adolescent program integrates an academic component into the treatment curriculum.
Aloria sheds light on the nature and consequences of unhealthy behavior patterns. Consequently, the facility seeks to heal the “whole person” rather than merely treating symptoms. Because it’s an integrative treatment model, it includes an array of therapeutic methods from evidence-based therapies and psychiatric consultations, to nutrition education, holistic methods, somatic experiencing and psycho-education.
Clients engage in two individual therapy sessions a week, as well as daily group sessions rooted in DBT. Residents also meet weekly for a consultation with a psychiatrist. Clients also participate in a range of holistic practices such as mindfulness, yoga, movement and breath work. Aloria places a premium on general wellness. Clients engage in nutrition therapy on a weekly basis and empowering psycho education courses that focus on body image, self-esteem and relapse prevention.
The Aloria team is comprised of therapeutic assistants, nurses, clinical therapists, a nutritionist, psychiatrist and a physician. A medical staff is onsite to provide services and medication management for residents with co-occurring mental health conditions.
