Allumbaugh House Review
Allumbaugh House of Nampa, Idaho is a part of Terry Reilly Health Services. Allumbaugh House is a detox and mental health crisis facility that serves adults who benefit from short term treatment. It’s available to residents of Boise, Ada, Valley or Elmore Counties. Clients are all self referred for detox services, though those who are admitted for mental health care are referred by either a provider or law enforcement.
Accommodations and Food
Allumbaugh House is a free standing clinic with 16 beds total. Sleeping arrangements are dorm style with each of the small cot-like beds in a large room. The men and women clients are separated into suites on different sides of the building. There are several common areas throughout the facility that add an element of home. This includes a rec room with couches, TV, books and community tables. There is also a community garden with benches in the back of the facility.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided for all clients during their stay. There is a set time for meals as well as established snack times. Coffee and water is available around the clock.
Treatment and Staff
The average length of stay for each client varies, though it is typical for clients to remain at the facility between five and seven days, with the exception of some detox clients staying for up to 10 days.
The main services offered at Allumbaugh House include medically monitored detox, stabilization for people in a mental health crisis, and a sobering program for clients who are intoxicated. During treatment in each of these levels there are community meetings, education and counseling provided. Clients are also referred to longer term care after they leave the facility. Clients are expected to participate in every aspect of the program regardless of where they are in their detox process.
There are two daily house meetings at Allumbaugh House. These meetings set goals for clients in their recovery, deelgate chores and jobs around the facility, and discuss any issues that come up while in treatment. There is a rule of dimmed lights and TV off by 11 pm until 6 am daily.
Within 24 hours of admission clients meet with a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner to discuss medication options. Medication is given four times a day, and at the discharge meeting clients are provided with medication information for their next step in recovery. Included with the medication regimen is an education session about the effects and benefits.
Staff of this program includes LPCs and medical professionals.
