All About Recovery Sober Living Review
All About Recovery is a substance abuse rehab facility in sunny Royal Palm Beach, Florida. It provides a continuum of care for clients that includes an ambulatory detox program, as well as outpatient and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) treatment and gender-specific sober living.
Accommodations and Amenities
All About Recovery Residences operates four transitional living houses that include a men’s and women’s baby-boomer (ages 40 and older) houses and two gender-specific residences for adults younger than 39. These houses are for clients in outpatient treatment at All About Recovery. The houses accommodate between 10 and 12 individuals at a time. All the homes are located in nice residential neighborhoods. Clients are paired in spacious rooms that include twin beds attached to wooden headboards with extra cubby space, nightstands and some even have large walk-in closets.
Residents collaborate with menu planning and grocery shopping. In fully equipped kitchens, they take turns preparing the meals and then dine together. All About Recovery believes that this collective process reinforces basic life skills such as budgeting money and eating on a regular schedule. Residents are encouraged to follow nutritional guidelines while they organize their menus.
Each house has amenities that include a swimming pool, laundry facility, DSL with wireless Internet access, outdoor patio, a desktop computer, barbeque, and a large screen television with digital cable. House managers are on on-site around the clock at each location.
Rules and Regulations
The ambulatory detox program provides medication-assisted treatment for alcohol and opiate withdrawal, offering Suboxone and similar medications. An assessment is required before beginning this process. Clients often move in to the house and begin treatment during detox and continue after it is completed. For all new residents, the first two weeks include a black out period where only house activities and 12-step meetings are allowed. This is so they can acclimate in a new environment. Working clients are exempt from this interval. During blackout, clients become acquainted with their roommates, focus on their recovery, obtain sponsors and develop new friendships. All About Recovery typically asks for a six-month minimum length of stay.
Other requirements include attendance at five off-site 12-step meetings per week, showing up for outpatient treatment and working the steps. The outpatient protocol varies per client but typically includes group therapy and individual therapy. Qualified clients in the Intensive Outpatient (IOP) program receive scholarships that covers treatment costs. Out-of-pocket IOP cost is $4,200 for 30 days. IOP includes three hours of daily group therapy, and one weekly individual session. Residents provide peer support, as well as supervision. Random drug and alcohol tests are conducted on the premises. Case management is offered and includes dual diagnosis support for those with co-occurring mental health issues, education planning, legal issues, goal setting and personal relationships.
Extras
Transportation is provided for those in their first 30 days of residency. For those without vehicles, the houses are in close proximity to public transportation. A weekly carpool is also available for church-going residents on Sundays.
In Summary
Not only does All About Recovery offer comprehensive services, but also scholarships are available to qualified IOP residents. Beds are limited however, so be prepared for a waiting list. Since All About Recovery provides age-specific treatment services, the Baby Boomer residences are very popular and often filled. This unique program is a great match for those who are looking to build a community of sober peers while receiving outpatient care with a measure of autonomy.
