Alert Driving, Inc. (ADI) offers DUI evaluations, prevention programs, education and substance abuse treatment to residents of San Jose, California, and the neighboring areas of Los Gatos, Saratoga, Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, Campbell, Willow Glen and Santa Cruz. It has been offering DUI classes in Santa Clara County since 1975 and has since expanded to provide outpatient treatment for chemical dependency, with varying levels of intensity. All programs comply with state requirements and use evidence-based methods.
Treatment and Staff
The services offered by ADI are designed for clients with DUI offenses or who are court-mandated to attend treatment, however, self-referred clients are also welcome. All must undergo an initial drug and alcohol evaluation to determine the level of care required.
DUI programs range from six weeks to 18 months, depending on the number and severity of offenses. Traditional outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are also offered. All programs incorporate CBT-based individual and group therapy, with family counseling available upon request. One-on-one and family sessions are scheduled independently of the structured groups.
Programs are differentiated by the number of hours spent in treatment each week. The basic outpatient program requires up to nine hours, while IOP requires a minimum of nine hours a week. While 12 steps are not formally integrated into the program, attendance at AA/NA meetings is strongly encouraged and clients may be referred to local meetings.
The staff at ADI consists of case workers, a psychologist and CADCs.
Extras
Additional services include DUI evaluations and anger management classes. It also offers a prevention program and non-DUI drug and alcohol assessments.
