AION RecoveryAION Recovery Review

Founded in 2014, AION Recovery is an expansive substance abuse treatment organization based in Boynton Beach, Florida. AION Recovery’s main office provides several outpatient programs and the organization also facilitates four specialized residential tracks that focus on treating first responders, men, women and LGBT clients. AION Recovery’s outpatient services are a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and basic outpatient treatment. Programs at this location also incorporate dual diagnosis support if necessary.

Treatment and Staff

The outpatient programs are available for those who are stable enough to live at home during treatment or have completed one of the residential programs. There are also a limited number of sober living beds in each of AION Recovery’s residential facilities available for clients who need a few extra weeks of support while they are in the PHP before transitioning to independent living. Detox is not provided by AION Recovery, but referrals to local facilities are available if necessary. All clients have individualized treatment plans that include group and individual therapy and on-site 12-step meetings.

Therapeutic methods include CBT, DBT and EMDR. Specialized trauma-informed care techniques are also implemented since AION deals with populations that often come from traumatic backgrounds. These techniques include Rapid Reduction Technique (RRT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)—forms of CBT used in cases of PTSD.

The PHP runs Mondays through Fridays for six hours a day. After about two weeks, clients usually step down to the IOP level. The IOP is a 10-week program that entails 12 to 15 hours per week of group therapy and individual sessions, along with attending recovery meetings in the community. The basic outpatient phase of treatment can serve as aftercare and may last up to a year. Outpatient includes one weekly group session and individual therapy once a month or as needed.

The staff at AION Recovery consists of licensed treatment professionals, including psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, MFTs and registered nurses.

Extras

After completing the program, clients have the option to continue in aftercare, which includes up to 12 months of alumni groups and complimentary therapist check-ins.

There is a family program that includes check-in calls, family therapy (available by video call for those outside the area) and information sessions. Referrals are also provided to family resources like Alanon and Alateen.

In Summary

AION Recovery’s outpatient program offers a solid alternative for those who want to live at home during treatment or need additional support after residential care. The comprehensive dual diagnosis support and trauma-informed care are a great asset. This is an excellent choice for those on the south Florida coast ready to set a foundation for recovery.
