Agnesian Healthcare: St. Agnes Hospital Review
Agnesian HealthCare is a system of health facilities throughout the Fond du Lac area in Wisconsin. Underneath the AHC umbrella is St. Agnes Hospital, a full-service medical facility with behavioral health care and chemical dependency treatment. The hospital was opened in 1896 and has since expanded their offerings to include outpatient treatment as well as inpatient-level detox services.
Treatment and Staff
Prior to admission, all clients submit to a psychiatric assessment. If detox is needed, the client is placed in the inpatient ward which shares space with the day program.
The outpatient program begins at 8 am and runs until 4 pm seven days a week. Individualized treatment plans enable the clinical staff to provide focused care for each client’s unique needs. Treatment modalities include group and individual therapy, psychoeducation groups, 12-step meetings, medication management and recreational therapy. Additional services may include nutritional assessment, parent education classes and discharge planning with case managers.
All clients are seen by an experienced team of mental health professionals that include psychiatrists, LADCs and MFTs. Clinical staff utilize evidence-based practices that include CBT and DBT techniques. Dual diagnosis support is also available for clients with co-occurring disorders.
The treatment program includes an adolescent track as well as varying levels of treatment including an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), relapse prevention groups and family involvement. IOP track is a step-down from the day program, and clients can reduce the intensity of their treatment by finally only attending aftercare.
Extras
A family program is available to help family and loved ones support the recovery process, as are parenting classes and psychoeducation groups. Aftercare is available through group therapy that continues as long as needed.

St. Agnes Hospital provides chemical dependency services and mental health care for adults and adolescents. Programming is individualized and helps the client to have a unique experience as they pursue their recovery. Clients are introduced to the 12-step framework, educational classes and work on developing new coping skills to sustain their recovery.
