Windom MinnesotaThe Basics

The Agape Counseling Center LLC serves adults ages 18 and over with outpatient substance abuse treatment programs. Agape offers its services from a quaint storefront in downtown Windom, Minnesota. Their programs include an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) along with a traditional outpatient program, both of which require weekly attendance of group therapy sessions. Individual therapy is also offered on a less frequent basis. Treatment at Agape incorporates both the 12 steps and other evidence-based modalities. The facility also serves DUI/DWI offenders.

Treatment and Staff

Those seeking treatment at Agape must begin with a substance abuse evaluation. During the assessment period, all clients are tested to assure that they are completely abstinent from drugs and alcohol. After the evaluation, eligible clients are advised to participate in either IOP or the standard outpatient track. Dual diagnosis support and detox services are not available at Agape, though referrals to outside facilities can be made when necessary.

For those who need a strict and structured agenda, the three-month IOP is recommended. This program meets three times a week for two hours at a time. Group sessions are held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. Each of these is held either as a lecture-based session or as a discussion group.

During the first half of lectures, clients learn about topics such as the addiction as disease model, relapse prevention, anger management and coping skills. Clients are also asked to complete basic assignments relevant to the material covered in lectures. Discussion groups cover similar topics using the Big Book as a reference. IOP also includes 12-step oriented groups where clients are introduced to the basic tenets of AA. While in treatment, clients go over the first four steps and are advised to continue with after completing treatment. Off-site meetings are not mandatory though they are suggested.

Those in need of less structure are asked to come to treatment only twice a week. Typically those in the standard outpatient program attend one lecture and one discussion group a week, with individual therapy scheduled only as needed.

ACC’s staff consists of two LADCs who lead all group sessions.

Extras

Aftercare services are offered to those who complete either of the treatment programs at ACC. These services are available at no extra cost and consist of 30 to 60 hours of additional group therapy.

In Summary

Agape Counseling Center LLC is a good option for those who have outside responsibilities that require them to live at home during treatment. Their aftercare plan is also an impressive bonus, though treatment overall is fairly basic. Still, Agape’s programs are a flexible and affordable option for those in the area.

The name of this $hithole should be called “Fakegape.”
The owner, David Rupp is a sexual predator, and pervert.

During my time at this $hithole, “Dave” spoke about my breasts,
my vagina, and other various parts of my body during group sessions.
He also made sexual comments to other females in our group also.

In truth, “Dave” should be turned-in to the State of Minnesota
for possible law suit references. This “man” is a predator.
This “man” is scary. This “man” is dangerous. This “man” is a
    threat to all women!

Agape, rather, Fakegape, is a facility that everyone should be
afraid to enter. The few employees are rude, scary, intimidating,
and the “intern” is a convict.

    The owner, Dave Rupp, is a phony! He’s a loud-talking horse’s ass!
He tries to act like he’s one of the “good-ole boys,” when actually,
    he’s just what I described: A horse’s ass! A phony! A predator!
Fakegape should be sued for criminal sexual behavior, and shut-down.

A chemical treatment center should have a respectable owner/counselor.
Fakegape is a dangerous place to end up, especially for a so-called “minister”
of the Gospel like the sexual pervert Dave Rupp.
    You’ve been warned!
