Advocates for Wellness, LLC Review
Located in Kennewick, Washington, Advocates for Wellness, LLC offers outpatient services for addiction and mental health issues. Founded in 2004, this facility has an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) as well as individual and family therapy. Evidence-based practices are used to help challenge each client’s negative behaviors and thought patterns.
Treatment and Staff
Both adults and adolescents can get treatment at Advocates for Wellness, LLC. Treatment uses a mixture of therapies to successfully identify and treat issues, though detox is not available.
The IOP meets three times a week for three hours per session. Group topics focus on addiction education, relapse prevention, problem solving, coping skills and anger management. At least one hour long individual therapy session takes place per week as well. Evidence based therapies such as CBT and DBT are used in all treatment sessions, and the 12 steps are also introduced in both program tracks. Clients are encouraged to attend meetings and get a AA or NA sponsor, though there are no strict requirements for 12-step participation and attendance.
Once IOP has been completed, clients can transition into outpatient which meets only once a week. This program follows a similar structure to IOP in terms of treatment methods but with less intensity and less of a time commitment. Overall, outpatient puts a greater focus on relapse prevention.
In addition to structured outpatient, clients have access to individual therapy as its own treatment path. Each session runs for an hour, giving clients plenty of time to delve into personal issues. Support for some co-occurring disorders such as depression and anxiety can also be addressed. The staff consists of chemical dependency counselors.
Extras
Counseling for addictions such as shopping, sex and gambling are available, as are anger management therapy sessions. DUI offenders can also attend a day long alcohol and drug information program as well.
