Those who need detox receive medications to ensure they’re as comfortable as possible, and are monitored around the clock by medical professionals. Throughout their entire stay clients are continually checked out by nurses or physicians to make sure they’re stable and regaining physical health.
During residential treatment there are several daily group sessions along with on-site AA meetings. There are also frequent individual sessions that cover the original treatment plan and develop new goals for treatment and aftercare. Clients address past traumas during group and one on one sessions and start to evaluate where their addiction may have stemmed from. They also look at past and present relationship and family, self esteem and self care practices, and learn new coping mechanisms and identify triggers.
Treatment for dual diagnosis clients can include medication management as well as specialized programming that can address eating disorders, OCD, PTSD, anxiety and depression.
The staff of ARC includes LCSWs, addiction specialists, LPCs and Master’s-level therapists. There are also psychiatrists and RNs who specialize in psychiatric disorders.
Extras
As previously mentioned, treatment also includes some holistic approaches and experimental methods. This can mean ropes courses, recreation or play therapy, adventure or wilderness therapy, psychodrama, music and art therapy. Additional modalities are Gestalt therapy, and Rogerian therapy.
There are several recreational therapy options offered at ARC. This includes rock climbing, yoga, hiking and sculpting. There are also family therapy services available.
