Treatment and Staff
When a client is seeking treatment services from ARS, he or she first goes through a thorough assessment with an intake counselor who considers each individual’s health and substance abuse history. Everyone takes a urinalysis, after which they are placed into a treatment program, which vary in intensity.
The first is PHP, which requires up to six hours a day of group and individual therapy for up to five days a week. The next is the IOP, which is three days a week for three hours at a time. The final option is outpatient, which meets once a week for three hours. Each of these programs can be taken as a step down option as well. For those in need of detox, the facility offers an ambulatory option that is incorporated into the PHP with medication assisted treatment, which also includes the use of Suboxone.
The treatment programs are based on the 12 steps as well as evidence-based therapy, with programs individualized to each client’s needs. Therapy methods include CBT, DBT, EMDR, Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), music and art therapy as well as relaxation and mindfulness techniques like meditation. ARS also offers programs specifically for those with co-occurring conditions, which includes medication management in addition to group and individual therapy.
The facility offers weekly 12-step meetings on-site, including an all women’s group meeting. ARS also provides outside referrals so clients can continue attending AA or NA meetings and obtain a sponsor after treatment. Additional group sessions focus on relapse prevention, coping skills, anger management, and parenting classes. The treatment programs are operated by addiction specialists with over 20 years experience, with other staff including medical doctors, nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists and LCDCs.
Extras
There are individualized aftercare services available that can be taken either in a group therapy setting or one-on-one. Family and private therapy sessions are also available as well as group classes about the disease of addiction. In addition to substance abuse programs, the facility also offers treatment for gambling addiction.
