Adapt Aware Zone Review
With locations in Whittier and Glendale, California, Adapt Aware Zone is a small behavioral health organization that provides outpatient-based treatment to clients seeking help with alcoholism and addiction. The programs offered are state-certified and are predominantly designed to help court-ordered clients receive counseling for DUI/DWI charges. Still, individualized outpatient plans can also be arranged.
Treatment and Staff
Before treatment begins, clients go through an initial intake and assessment and are placed in an program appropriate to their needs. While on-site detox services are not available, those in need can get referrals as necessary. Treatment is available in varying intensities and consists primarily of group therapy with CBT and 12-step participation. Dual diagnosis support is not available. Groups generally cover a range of topics including addiction as a disease, relapse prevention, trigger identification, anger management and coping skills.
The staff at Adapt Aware Zone consists of case managers and Master’s-level, state-certified drug and alcohol counselors.
Extras
Both Spanish and English-speaking services are available and standalone anger management classes are also offered. Walk-in clients are also accepted. Out-of-state DUI clients are also welcome to attend and can work with staff members to determine the logistics. Finally, those who complete a program can work with case managers on their discharge and aftercare plans.

Overall, Adapt Aware Zone is a well-rounded organization with affordable and flexible outpatient services to clients struggling with substance use disorders. Treatment plans are primarily rooted in group therapy with CBT, 12-step support and educational topics. While the majority of programs are aimed at court-ordered clients, special plans can also be arranged. Though it is somewhat of a niche option, Adapt Aware Zone may be worth considering for those in the area.
