Adanta Behavioral Health Services Review
Adanta Behavioral Health Services is an outpatient drug and alcohol organization with 10 locations throughout Kentucky. It is a private non-profit with a primary focus on substance abuse, mental health and developmental disability, though it can also offer dual diagnosis support. By providing assessments, education, interventions, therapy and aftercare, Adanta aims to help clients during each part of their recovery journey.
Treatment and Staff
Adanta offers a six-month Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and a regular outpatient substance abuse program for adults. The IOP meets three times a week for three hours at a time and the outpatient program meets only once a week. Both involve a weekly individual session in addition to plenty of group therapy. Group sizes range from 10 to 20 clients at a time, with topics including trauma, relapse prevention, anger management, coping skills, goal planning and communication.
All clients are introduced to the 12 steps and encouraged to attend meetings as part of their recovery. Evidence-based therapy led by trained counselors is offered in individual, group and family therapy varieties. For extra support during IOP or outpatient, individual sessions are available. These sessions are each an hour long and run by a substance abuse counselor.
For those who need to physically stabilize, a medically monitored detox is available at certain locations. In addition to therapy, clients receive education about the dangers of drugs and alcohol. They are given information about the disease model of addiction, as well as the physical health repercussions of substance abuse. Staff at each location includes therapists, medical doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists and counselors.
This organization charges $108 per hour for individual sessions whereas all group therapy sessions are $20 per hour. They also offer a DUI education and treatment program that costs $20 per session.
Extras
The family program enables family members to participate in their loved one’s treatment. A group meets once a week, allowing families apart from their loved ones to process issues in a safe space. They are able to receive insight and advice on how to cope with their loved one’s struggles, in addition to learning about communication and healthy boundaries. Family therapy with the clients themselves can be also be arranged.
In addition to the services for chemical dependency, clients can get outpatient treatment for mental health issues, as well as crisis interventions and marriage counseling.
