Adams County Community Counseling Review
Adams County Community Counseling offers outpatient substance abuse treatment based on a sliding scale fee. Located on the main street of a small town, its office in Ritzville, Washington, is an hour from the Spokane metro area amid rolling hills and farmland. The adult chemical dependency program offers interventions, an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and alcohol and drug education.
Treatment and Staff
The facility has a variety of services for adults and treats chemical dependency using therapeutic modalities such as CBT and DBT. Each client must undergo an initial assessment to create a proper individualized treatment plan. The assessments are $150 each. DUI assessments are also available. For those needing an intervention, Adams County Community Counseling works with family members and friends to get the person who is struggling into treatment. Detox is not available.
The IOP track allows clients to maintain employment and stay with their family as they proceed through intensive treatment. The eight-week course runs for a total of 72 hours—meeting three times a week for three-hour sessions. Clients are provided with both individual and group therapy to learn new ways of thinking. Typically, the groups have between five to 15 clients at a time. Group topics include relapse prevention, drug and alcohol education, introduction to the 12 steps, trauma, coping skills, anger management and family communication. Individual sessions take up 60 minutes a week.
For those clients who have completed IOP, or those looking for something less intensive, the outpatient track meets once a week, for three hours. This track provides a weekly individual session, in addition to group therapy. The duration of outpatient depends on the client’s needs.
In addition to providing therapy for substance abuse, Adams County Community Counseling offers prevention and educational services in the local community and schools.
The staff includes therapists, counselors and a psychiatrist.

Adams County Community Counseling offers a mental health program with outpatient therapy for adults, children and senior citizens. Treatment is available for marriage and family problems, anxiety, depression, divorce, anger management, delayed stress, sexual abuse, loss and grief. Both group and individual therapy are available, in addition to medication management.
