Achievement Associates Counseling and Family Resource Centers is a counseling agency offering a variety of mental health services to adolescents, adults and families from four locations in the state of Wisconsin. The network of therapeutic facilities offer both basic outpatient treatment and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) for substance abuse and addiction.
With offices in downtown Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, Mequon and Hales Corners, Achievement Associates uses an evidence-based approach to treatment incorporating individual and group therapy and the 12-step approach to recovery. Additionally, detox is available for clients struggling with opiate addiction.
Treatment and Staff
Through an initial assessment, intake coordinators determine if the client requires detox with Suboxone treatment available to treat symptoms of opiate withdrawal. Whether or not individuals undergo detox, they are admitted to one of two tracks for outpatient care; an IOP or basic outpatient treatment. The IOP requires a commitment to therapy three hours a day (with sessions available either in the mornings or evenings) four times a week. CBT is employed during both the individual and group sessions. Groups discuss relapse prevention education, stress management and encourage family involvement.
The basic outpatient track consists of weekly individual and group sessions as well as family therapy and like the IOP includes anger management and relapse prevention education. The 12-steps are integrated into the recovery program and while there are no on-site groups, clients are expected to attend daily meetings, obtain a sponsor within two weeks and obtain signed attendance sheets.
Dual diagnosis support is available and the staff at Achievement Associates consists of CADCs, clinical psychologists and psychiatrists.

In addition to their substance abuse treatment program, Achievement Associates offers a variety of other services including group and family counseling, individual therapy, a college preparatory program, tutoring services, an eating disorder treatment program, nutrition management, support for clients on the autism spectrum and speech pathology.
