Access Recovery Solutions Review
Founded in 2010, Access Recovery Solutions provides outpatient substance abuse and mental health services for men and women in Panama City and elsewhere in the Florida panhandle. The facility is part of the Addiction Medical Solutions, a provider of comprehensive, evidence-based addiction treatment services with clinics in Maryland, Delaware, Florida and Wisconsin. They believe that addiction is primarily a neurological disease. Dr. Mark Stavros, Access Recovery Solutions’ medical director, evaluates and consults with clients who desire medication-assisted treatment services, specifically suboxone.
Treatment and Staff
Prior to admission, a mental health and substance abuse assessment with a counselor is completed. The cost for the assessment is $250. Support and medication are provided for clients who suffer from co-occurring disorders.
The eight-week Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) includes CBT-based group therapy. Clients meet at the facility for two hours a day, four times a week. Group therapy scheduling accommodates working clients, with groups offered from 8:30 am to 10:45 am or from 6 pm to 8:15 pm. Topics include relapse prevention, life skills training, and education on 12-step principles. Clients who seek a non-12-step approach are educated about other addiction recovery support groups including All Addicts Anonymous, SMART Recovery, The Most Excellent Way and Celebrate Recovery.
The regular outpatient program takes up three hours a week that include individual therapy, group therapy and family therapy.
The adolescent outpatient program caters to clients ages 13 to 17. It offers individual and family assessment, an initial urine drug screen (followed by random tox screenings), individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy and multi-family counseling services, as well as social activities.
Besides Dr. Stavros, the small staff includes two Master’s-level counselors, a licensed counselor and an office manager.
Extras
Access Recovery Solutions is state-licensed to provide aftercare that includes CBT-based group therapy. The focus is on relapse prevention. Johnson Model-based interventions, as well as recovery monitoring services, are provided.
