Treatment and Staff

Groups have a maximum of 12 participants and incorporate the 12-step framework, CBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI). The treatment team includes Master’s-level therapists such as MSWs and addiction counselors who have experience treating co-occurring disorders. Clients whose mental health conditions escalate may be referred to a nearby mental health clinic for targeted therapy and medication management.
Group therapy topics include stress management, sober socializing, criminal thinking and the holidays and recovery. Clients are also encouraged to attend 12-step meetings each week, and Allentown will provide them with a list of nearby meetings.
Extras
Allentown hosts a family day each month to provide support and addiction education to loved ones. There’s also a weekly Alumni Group each Tuesday evening for aftercare. The White Deer Run treatment network also regularly holds a variety of alumni get-togethers throughout Pennsylvania.
