Third Avenue Comprehensive Treatment Center is an outpatient facility located in Chula Vista, California. A suburb of San Diego, Chula Vista is located just north of the Mexican border. Third Avenue CTC provides care for individuals struggling with opioid dependence. Utilizing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), clients safely detox while still having the freedom to meet day to day responsibilities.
As a member of the Acadia Healthcare network, Third Avenue Comprehensive Treatment Center is just one of many behavioral health facilities providing chemical dependency and therapeutic support. With its headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee, Acadia serves communities across the country and in the UK with residential, outpatient and school-based treatment programs.
Treatment and Staff
Prior to enrolling, all clients must come to Third Avenue CTC for an assessment to determine the acuity of their addiction and the presence of any health conditions. After the assessment is complete, clients are prescribed either Methadone, Subutex or Suboxone. Clients are closely monitored by the medical staff who supervise dosage and progress. Physicians and nurses help clients to acclimate to their new medication and make any required adjustments to dosage. Once clients have adapted to MAT, they are encouraged to attend therapeutic activities for their recovery.
The clinic is open from 5:30 am to 2 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays then on Wednesdays from 5:30 am to 12:30 pm. Weekend hours are from 6 to 10 am. During these hours, clients can have access to dosage as well as group and individual therapy. CADCs lead therapeutic activities using evidence-based practices. In addition to therapy, clients are encouraged to attend 12-step meetings while attending treatment. The program itself is not based in AA/NA but clients are taught the importance of seeking peer and community support. Clients also learn relapse prevention skills and positive coping mechanisms.
Extras
Treatment at Third Avenue CTC is limited to MAT and basic outpatient therapeutic services. Those clients in need of more intensive treatment or assistance connecting with housing, financial or employment services are referred to trusted outside resources.
