Acadia: River Shore Comprehensive Treatment Center Review
River Shore Comprehensive Treatment Center is located in the metropolitan area of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It is a provider of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for individuals 18 and older who are struggling with opioid addiction. In addition to treating the physical aspects of addiction and withdrawal, clients must also attend therapy at the basic outpatient treatment level.
To qualify for treatment at River Shore CTC, potential clients must live within 50 miles of the facility and be opioid dependent for at least one year. In addition, the client must be withdrawn from opioids for 20 to 24 hours (unless he or she has been discharged from a detox program or another MAT facility, or those who are presently pregnant).
As a member of the Acadia Healthcare network, River Shore CTC is just one of many behavioral health facilities providing chemical dependency and therapeutic support. With its headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee, Acadia serves communities across the US and in the UK with residential, outpatient and school-based treatment programs.
Treatment and Staff
River Shore CTC offers individual and group therapy in addition to MAT. Medications available include Suboxone and methadone. Staff physicians recommend the type of medication, the dosages and frequency of treatment for each clients depending on their individual needs and acuity. Changes in medication and dosages may be made at any time during the treatment process, depending upon reactions and progress. Individual therapy is scheduled once a week, and groups are available Monday through Friday between 5 am and 12:15 pm, from 6 to 9:45 am on Saturdays. The facility is closed on Sundays. The program is not 12-step oriented, nor is dual diagnosis support available.
The staff consists of physicians, Substance Abuse Counselors (SACs) and nurses.
