Acadia: Portland Comprehensive Treatment Centers Review
Portland Comprehensive Treatment Centers are a group of CARF-accredited outpatient treatment programs located in the Portland, Oregon area. With branches in Portland, Tigard, Belmont and East Portland as well as one the just over the Oregon border in Vancouver, Washington, all facilities specialize in Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for those struggling with opioid addictions. With the aim to provide comprehensive treatment for addiction, clients are also encouraged to participate in a standard outpatient program that includes traditional therapeutic services. MAT options include Subutex, Suboxone and Methadone.

Treatment and Staff
An initial assessment is used to determine which medication is the best fit for the client’s needs. The counselor assigned to the client helps with initial administration of the medication as well as monitoring the dosage as the client progresses through treatment. The assessment also helps to develop an individualized treatment plan that helps counselors focus therapeutic sessions on topics best suited for their client, targeting the psychological basis of their addiction and helping to create recovery and life goals.
Individual sessions are scheduled at least once a week, while group sessions are held at various times throughout the week for clients to attend with a frequency determined by their treatment plan. All staff utilize CBT methodology in therapy sessions.
The staff at PCTC consists of RNs, physicians, LPCs and LCDCs.

In addition to therapy and MAT for opioid-based addictions and, PCTC also offers a referral system. If clients are found to need further treatment beyond basic outpatient services—such as inpatient treatment or specialized services for co-occurring disorders, the staff at all PCTC provides information on alternative treatment programs and facilities.
