Acadia: Parkersburg Comprehensive Treatment Center Review
Parkersburg Comprehensive Treatment Center opened in West Virginia in 2005. Located in the city of the same name, Parkersburg CTC provides outpatient substance abuse treatment to adult clients in the form of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) combined with basic therapeutic services. Treatment at Parkersburg CTC does not follow the 12-step approach and is only available to clients who are dealing with opioid abuse.
As a member of the Acadia Healthcare network, Parkersburg Comprehensive Treatment Center is just one of many behavioral health facilities providing chemical dependency and therapeutic support. With its headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee, Acadia serves communities across the country and in the UK with inpatient, residential, outpatient and school-based treatment programs.
Treatment and Staff
Parkersburg CTC clients receive a completely individualized schedule and are prescribed methadone, Suboxone, Subutex or Vivitrol, depending on the acuity of their addiction. Medication is determined by staff recommendation, and clients must come to the facility daily for supervised administration (except for Vivitrol, which is a monthly shot).
Clients are also required to attend at least one group session and one individual session weekly. Each client is also given the option to have his or her family members involved in their individual sessions and counselor meetings. Clients also work on aftercare planning and personal goal setting with their primary counselor. Classes include recovery skills and healthy coping skills.
Treatment hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 5:45 am to 1 pm and Wednesdays from 5:45 to 11:30 am. Weekend hours are 6:30 to 10:30 am on Saturdays, as well as a small window of time on Sundays between 6 and 8 am.
Parkersburg CTC employs Licensed Substance Abuse Counselors (LSACs), on-site medical doctors and registered nurses.
