Located in Jackson, Mississippi is Jackson Comprehensive Treatment Center. Part of the Acadia Healthcare network, this is an outpatient clinic that provides methadone and Suboxone to adults struggling with opioid addiction. In addition to the Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), clients receive individualized programming plans, a connection to the 12-step community, and therapy. A seasoned team of medication and clinical professionals—with extensive experience working with people who have a history of opioid addiction—oversees all care.
Treatment and Staff
Adults 18 and older qualify for treatment at the Jackson facility as long as they meet the admission criteria of living within 50 miles of the center and have been dependent on opioids for a minimum of a year.
Incoming clientele are not issued medications on the same day as their assessment, and have to be in the midst of withdrawal between 20 and 24 hours at arrival. After the three to four hour intake process, clients receive their individualized treatment plan that includes their medication plan and a schedule of group therapy sessions. The only exception to the withdrawal rule is for clients who are pregnant and seeking treatment. They are admitted immediately and begin to receive medication right away.
Individual therapy is scheduled according to each client’s needs and schedules. These sessions serve as a time for clients and their assigned therapists to discuss goals for treatment, accomplishments and any issues they come up against while in the program. Group therapy takes place throughout the week and covers topics like relapse prevention, coping skills, and how to identify triggers and process emotions.
Staff is comprised of medical doctors and nurses. There are also addiction counselors.
Extras
Family counseling and resources are factored into each clients treatment plan. They are provided with education about their loved ones struggle with addiction. They are also referred to community support meetings including Al-Anon,
