Acadia: Indianapolis Comprehensive Treatment Center Review
In 2005 the Indianapolis Comprehensive Treatment Center opened its doors in Indianapolis, Indiana. The substance abuse treatment facility specializes in Medically-Assisted Treatment (MAT) on an outpatient basis for clients with a dependence on opiates. The ICTC also utilizes the 12-step approach and incorporates individual and group therapy into treatment.
As a member of the Acadia Healthcare network, the Indianapolis Comprehensive Treatment Center is just one of many behavioral health facilities providing chemical dependency and therapeutic support. With its headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee, Acadia serves communities across the country and in the UK with residential, outpatient and school-based treatment programs.
Treatment and Staff
Indianapolis CTC focuses on MAT in combination with therapy for adults 18 and over. Medication options include methadone, Subutex and Suboxone. Clients must attend group and individual sessions at least once weekly, working closely with a counselor who is assigned to them upon admittance. The frequency of these sessions is dependent on the individual client’s need, as all tracks are individualized.
Clients also have access to recovery and healthy coping skills classes, and work with staff to plan for aftercare and to set personal goals. Recreational and therapeutic group activities are also available to provide clients with peer support.
Treatment runs from Monday to Friday, 8 to 10:30 am and 12 to 4:30 pm. Saturdays the facility is open from 6 to 10 am and Sundays from 6 to 8 am. A typical Indianapolis CTC client is expected to come in for treatment daily for 90 days. As long as clients attend group and individual sessions regularly for three months, they may enter Indianapolis CTC’s Take Home program, which allows clients to self-administer doses at home.
ICTC has a staff of Licensed Substance Abuse Counselors (LSACs) and psychologists. Medical doctors may also come in to supervise care.
Extras
The Indianapolis CTC’s Transitions Program is for those clients who require longer-term attention. It lasts 18 months, 12 of which are dedicated to MAT, and the following six continue with mental health care at no cost. Additionally, the Seeking Safety Program is available for clients with past trauma. Family education services and supportive peer groups are also available on site.
In Summary
Indianapolis Comprehensive Treatment Center has provided MAT and basic outpatient therapeutic services for over a decade. All clients are given individualized treatment plans that incorporate group and one-on-one sessions. For those struggling with opiate addiction, Indianapolis CTC offers treatment that helps curb the painful withdrawal symptoms as well as the mental and emotional aspects of addiction and recovery.
