Haverhill Pavilion Adult Inpatient Review
Located in Haverhill, Massachusetts, is Acadia’s Haverhill Pavilion—a treatment facility that offers detox services, behavioral health and dual diagnosis care. This private, stand alone hospital boasts an array of treatment protocols and approaches to address clients’ needs in the midst of a mental health crisis. Programming includes group and individual therapy, occupational therapy, recreation, medication management for co-occurring disorders, and 12-step meetings. The adult inpatient program aids in getting clients to a stable place in order to either return to their homes, or transition into a lower level of treatment.
Accommodations and Food
The adult residential facilities offer 50 beds of the 71 total in the hospital. The housing is divided into three buildings on campus, with those in the dual diagnosis program in one section and behavioral health issues in another. Clients share their bedrooms with one other person of the same gender, and have common areas throughout the facility. There is an on-site pharmacy, recreation space, private courtyard, and dining hall.
Meals are prepared on site. Clients eat breakfast, lunch and dinner in the cafeteria. Dietary restrictions are honored.
Treatment and Staff
The adult track offers detox services for those who need it. This is a medically monitored procedure with staff overseeing the process 24 hours a day. In some cases there are medical support services available, such as EKG or X-rays, that are provided on site as well. This facility offers short term care, so on average clients remain in treatment for about 10 days. There are options to stay longer if necessary.
Treatment is for adults who have a primary diagnosis of a mental illness. The program is divided into two tracks, one specifically for those struggling with issues like depression, anxiety, bipolar, schizophrenia and more. The other is for clients with an existing dual diagnosis.
Clients are presented with a customized treatment plan that includes a detailed discharge and continued care plan. Clients attend group therapy several times a week, and individual therapy when needed. Depending on their treatment plan, clients can anticipate task based therapies, Motivational Interviewing (MI), CBT, DBT, sensory modulation, nutritional consultations and 12-step education.
Staff of the adult program includes Board certified psychiatrists and psychiatric nurses, psychologists, complete medical staff, LPCs LCSWs, dietitians, and case managers.
Discharge and aftercare planning is a big part of the programming. Clients work with a case manager to establish treatment either on an inpatient or outpatient basis and are connected to services within the community.
Haverhill Pavilion’s adult inpatient program incorporates a number of treatment modalities and approaches. They all take into account each client’s personal needs. The staff is very supportive and offers around the clock attention. Individuals seeking help here can expect solid programming options and a respectful atmosphere throughout their rehab experience.
