The Basics
Located near the border of Rhode Island, the Fall River Comprehensive Treatment Center is a Massachusetts based outpatient facility. Treatment is reserved for adult clients who are struggling with opioid dependence. Through medication and therapeutic interventions, clients are able to work their way towards recovery from active addiction. The facility is CARF-accredited, and works to provide individualized treatment options for their clients.
As a member of the Acadia Healthcare network, Fall River Comprehensive Treatment Center is just one of many behavioral health facilities providing chemical dependency and therapeutic support. With its headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee, Acadia serves communities across the country and in the UK with inpatient, residential, outpatient and school-based treatment programs.
Treatment and Staff
Fall River CTC is an outpatient clinic that specializes in Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for adults over the age of 18. Before clients can be admitted, they must schedule an appointment with intake staff to determine which medication is most suited for the client, as well as the treatment schedule and projected length of treatment.
Medication is prescribed and administered on the spot so the client can begin the detox process. The medications available at Fall River CTC include methadone, Subutex and Suboxone. All medication is subject to adjustment and is supervised by the staff physicians and nurses.
The clinic is open seven days a week for medication and therapeutic activities, with extended hours so clients can attend group and individual therapy with a primary counselor.
CADCs lead clients through activities that utilize evidence-based practices such as CBT. Groups help clients to work on positive coping skills and relapse prevention techniques. The clinic is open from 5:15 am to 3 pm Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:15 am to 7 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 5:15 am to 2 pm on Fridays. Weekend hours are from 5:45 to 10 am Saturdays and 5:45 am to 2:15 pm on Sundays.

Due to the widespread opioid epidemic throughout Massachusetts, Fall River CTC has one of the most extensive schedules out of any of the Acadia Heathcare network facilities. With accessible treatment for both the physical and psychological aspects of addiction, the Fall River facility is a valuable community resource.
