Erlanger Behavioral Health Hospital Geriatric Review
Acadia’s Erlanger Behavioral Health Hospital is a psychiatric facility located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Treatment at this location includes mental and behavioral health issues and co-occurring disorder treatment for all ages. The geriatric program includes residential care for those who are 65 and older, and dealing with mood disturbances, cognitive impairment, depression, anxiety, self harm, suicidal tendencies and more. Accommodations and Food
The geriatric wing of the facility offers 24 beds. The bedrooms are double occupancy with en suite bathrooms. Individual therapy sessions are available upon request or need. There are also group sessions provided throughout the day. These groups address issues that are common amongst this age group. These topics include grief and loss, managing anger, disease education, managing stress, setting up healthy boundaries and improving communication.
Additional elements to the geriatric program include mobility therapy. This level of care consists of physical and occupational therapy. Staff works with clients to maintain their physical health. Treatment approaches include CBT, DBT, EMDR and mindfulness.
The staff that tends to the geriatric clients includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, behavioral health techs, LCSWs, nurses, medical doctors and psychiatrists.
Extras
Every client’s treatment plan includes planning for aftercare. Aftercare includes long term support and continued communication with clients’ families and staff.
