Situated just off of the Providence River in Rhode Island, Discovery House Comprehensive Treatment Center of Providence offers outpatient services for adults who are seeking freedom from opioid dependency. Through Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), therapy and community resources, clients are supported as they begin their recovery journey. Treatment and Staff
DHCTC of Providence specializes in MAT for opioid dependent adults. The facility combines medication and therapy to help clients work through the discomfort of detox. Before being admitted into the program, clients are assessed to determine the best form of medication for their unique health needs. DHCTC offers methadone, Suboxone and Subutex. Dosing is different for each client and is determined by their individualized treatment plan devised by the clinical staff.
Dosing hours are from 6 to 10 am during the week and from 6 to 10 am on weekends. Holiday dosing is from 8 to 9:30 am. Clients are supervised by the medical staff to ensure their dose is the proper amount and suitable for their needs as they progress in recovery.
In addition to medication, clients are strongly encouraged to attend therapeutic activities in an effort to treat the mental and emotional aspects of addiction. All group and individual therapy sessions are facilitated by CADCs. The facility stays open until 2 pm for individual appointments and groups. If clients are unable to attend groups due to work or family responsibilities, they are encouraged to connect with community resources such as 12-step meetings and other forms of peer support to bridge the gap until the client they can access more intensive forms of treatment.
