Acadia: Discovery House Comprehensive Treatment Center of Blair County Review
Discovery House Comprehensive Treatment Center of Blair County is one of the many Discovery House facilities located in Western Pennsylvania. Treatment and Staff
DHCTC of Blair County provides adult clients with solutions for detoxing comfortably. The facility solely works with individuals who are in need of opioid replacement therapy using Methadone, Suboxone or Subutex. After thorough medical and mental health assessments, clients are prescribed the medication that suits their needs best. All clients are monitored closely by physicians and the nursing staff. Clients who are currently taking prescribed medications for co-occurring disorders have specific treatment plans that include medication management.
In addition to medication, clients are encouraged to attend therapeutic activities. Group and individual therapy is facilitated during office hours after dosing.
The office is open during the week from 5 am to 1:30 pm. Dosing hours are from 5 to 10 am during the week and from 6:30 to 8:30 am on weekends and holidays. Attending groups is strongly encouraged to support a rounded recovery experience. All groups are facilitated by CADCs who utilize evidence-based practices including CBT. Attendance of 12-step meetings is encouraged if clients cannot attend therapy.

DHCTC ensures that clients receive confidential care that is tailored to their needs. Should a client require more intensive are beyond the DHCTC scope of practice, the medical and mental health staff provide referrals to trusted resources in the community.
