The Discovery House Comprehensive Treatment Center of Clearfield is one of many Discovery House facilities located in Western Pennsylvania. Treatment and Staff
DHCTC in Clearfield specializes in opioid replacement therapies for adults who are ready and willing to move past their active addiction. Before new clients are admitted, they must be screened and approved health-wise for the medication. This process also allows staff develop an individualized treatment plan. Methadone, Subutex and Suboxone are prescribed and administered under the supervision of certified medical practitioners. Dosing is available Monday through Friday from 5 to 10 am. Weekend hours are from 6 to 8 am. Holiday medicating hours are from 6 to 8 am.
The office is open Monday through Friday from 4:30 am until 1 pm for clients to speak to staff members and participate in therapeutic activities. DHCTC offers group and individual therapy for clients. As participation may not be possible for all clients due to work and family obligations, those who cannot attend groups are encouraged to attend 12-step meetings to supplement their recovery process. The clinical staff emphasizes to clients the importance of treating the emotional and mental aspects of recovery in addition to the physical aspects.
Group and individual sessions are facilitated using evidence-based therapies like CBT. CADCs support clients and help them to work through trauma and behavioral issues. Those with more serious mental health issues may be referred out to more intensive facilities during their detox process. Dosage and other concerns are monitored by physicians and a nursing staff. Adjustments to dosage may occur as clients progress in treatment.
All staff members offer community resources and referrals if needed. As a member of the international Acadia network of treatment facilities, DHCTC clients are connected to a diverse and expansive group of treatment options.
Discovery House Comprehensive Treatment Center Clearfield provides the community with treatment for opioid addiction by combining MAT and traditional therapeutic services. Cost for treatment depends on the medication administered, presence in therapy and whether the client has insurance.
