Acadia: Clarksburg Comprehensive Treatment Center Review
As one of three facilities in Northern West Virginia, the Clarksburg Comprehensive Treatment Center provides outpatient Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) with facilities in Wheeling and Parkersburg. Treatment at CCTC is individualized and tailored for adult clients struggling with opioid addiction. Therapeutic resources are included in treatment to support each client’s journey to sobriety.
As a member of the Acadia Healthcare network, Clarksburg Comprehensive Treatment Center is one of many behavioral health facilities providing chemical dependency and therapeutic support. With its headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee, Acadia serves communities across the country and in the UK with inpatient, residential, outpatient and school-based treatment programs.
Treatment and Staff
Before a therapeutic plan is designed, all potential clients are encouraged to make an appointment with the intake staff to assess the individual’s current acuity and determine whether any co-occurring disorders are present. The client then begins MAT and is supervised for the duration to ensure proper dosage. Medication options include methadone, Vivitrol, Suboxone and Subutex. Each client participates in a unique program based on their intake assessment and the type of medication they are on.
While attending therapeutic sessions is not required of those enrolled in treatment, clients are strongly encouraged to participate. The clinical staff utilize evidence-based practices including CBT and DBT through group and individual therapy. These sessions are held after dosing hours in the afternoon. The clinic is open from 5:30 am until 2:30 pm on weekdays and from 6 to 8:30 am on Saturdays. If an individual cannot make the times, they are encouraged to attend 12-step meetings.
Therapy is facilitated by CADCs who also have experience with the specifics of opioid addiction and MAT. Clients are also seen by a medical and nursing staff to ensure their dosage is correct.
Extras
CCTC counselors and medical staff are connected members in the healthcare community. If any client is in need of more intensive treatment that extend past the scope of CCTC’s offerings, referrals are given to trusted resources.
In Summary
The Clarksburg Comprehensive Treatment Center provides MAT for individuals struggling with opioid addiction. With a range of medications offered, each individual tackles withdrawal symptoms while being supported by medical staff and participating in evidence-based therapy. All clients are given unique plans tailored to their recovery needs and are given the resources to heal and grow.
