Acadia: Charleston Comprehensive Treatment Center Review
As one of four facilities in West Virginia, the Charleston Comprehensive Treatment Center is an outpatient facility specializing in helping clients heal from opioid addiction. Through Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and flexible treatment plans, clients participate in both therapy and medication. Adult men and women are accepted for detox and recovery programs.
As a member of the Acadia Healthcare network, Charleston Comprehensive Treatment Center is just one of many behavioral health facilities providing chemical dependency and therapeutic support. With its headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee, Acadia serves communities across the country and in the UK with inpatient, residential, outpatient and school-based treatment programs.
Treatment and Staff
Before a client can begin the detox process, they are encouraged to schedule an appointment for an assessment which determines the ideal medication as well as the presence of any co-occurring disorders. If the client is in need of more intensive care, they may be referred to an outside facility for additional treatment. In addition to prescriptions for Methadone, Suboxone, Vivitrol and Subutex, CCTC offers optional therapeutic sessions for clients. Group and individual therapy are available and incorporate evidence-based practices, such as CBT techniques.
LADCs and Master’s-level clinicians facilitate all groups and individual sessions.
Clients are also seen regularly by medical staff to ensure the dosage is effective with cravings and withdrawal symptoms. If clients do not want to attend or cannot due to scheduling, they are strongly encouraged to attend 12-step meetings for peer support. Therapy is scheduled following dosing hours in the morning during the week and on weekends. The facility is closed on Sundays.
Extras
The counseling and medical staff are connected to other facilities as well as community resources if the clients are in need of referrals. Those requiring care for dual diagnosis support are given the opportunity to work with specialists for other medications once they have stabilized.
