Acadia: Bayside Marin Outpatient Review
Bayside Marin is a private Bay Area treatment organization offering a comprehensive range of substance abuse treatment programs. Its main program is an upscale residential facility overlooking the San Francisco Bay that opened in 2005. Those who have completed residential treatment or who do not require the intensity of a live-in program can enroll in the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) with services available in San Rafael. Detox services are available and must be completed prior to enrollment, and all tracks utilize evidence-based practices as well as holistic treatment therapy models.
As a member of the Acadia Healthcare network, Bayside Marin is just one of many behavioral health facilities providing chemical dependency and therapeutic support. With its headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee, Acadia serves communities across the country and in the UK with inpatient, residential, outpatient and school-based treatment programs.
Treatment and Staff
The IOP offered by Bayside Marin is ideal for those who wish to maintain a regular work, school or family schedule while still participating in treatment. The 10-week track has sessions scheduled in both the mornings and evenings. Clients are evaluated and assessed before they start treatment allowing counselors to develop an individualized treatment plan.
All clients attend group therapy three times per week and individual therapy once a week. Therapy is based on DBT and CBT methodology. When clients are not in group therapy or individual therapy, they typically attend one of the services that their counselor believes will be beneficial to them. Specialized groups include education/awareness classes, family therapy (on the weekends), yoga and meditation. Additionally, referrals to self-help and peer support groups such as AA/NA as well as continuing care programs.
The staff at Bayside Marin consists of LMFTs, associate-level social workers and PsyDs.

In addition to the substance abuse treatment programs and services, Bayside Marin also offers SPECT treatment for those wishing to improve their cognitive and emotional capabilities during the course of treatment.
