9th Judicial Drug Court Review
9th Judicial Juvenile Drug Court offers outpatient based services for substance abuse and mental health issues in Pineville, Louisiana. Typically, the clients who attend this program have been ordered by the courts to receive treatment. The facility offers Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and standard outpatient treatment for adolescents. Following the 12-step tradition, clients learn about each of the steps in depth during group and individual therapy. In addition, evidence-based therapies are used to help challenge each client’s negative behaviors and thought patterns.
Treatment and Staff
The 9th Judicial Juvenile Drug Court offers structured outpatient programs for substance abuse and mental health issues, as well as individual and family therapy. Referrals for detox facilities can be made upon request.
IOP meets three times a week for three hours over the course of eight weeks. Group topics focus on addiction education, relapse prevention, problem solving, coping skills and anger management. At least one hour-long individual therapy session takes place every week. Evidence-based therapies such as CBT and DBT are used frequently. The 12 steps are introduced in both programs and clients are encouraged to attend meetings and get an AA or NA sponsor (though this is not required).
In addition to structured outpatient, clients can also attend individual therapy. Each session runs for 45 to 60 minutes, giving clients plenty of time to delve into personal issues. They also learn coping and communication skills. Support for mental health issues such as depression and anxiety can be addressed as well when necessary. Individual therapy can be done in conjunction with the outpatient or as its own treatment path.
The treatment team consists of LADCs.
