The Treatment Center Review
The Treatment Center (TTC) is a mid-range, Christian-based facility in Lake Worth, Florida. It bases treatment in 12-step principles but also offers dual diagnosis support and a full medical detox. Plenty of holistic offerings are also incorporated into programming.
Accommodations and Food
The Treatment Center’s bedrooms are infused with some of the comforts of home. Everyone shares a room, and while residents are expected to make their beds, they aren’t required to do chores.
Meals consist of a large buffet featuring comfort food and a salad bar, and the staff is gracious about accommodating food allergies or preferences. Though they have a decaf-only coffee policy, smoking is allowed on a designated porch.
Treatment and Staff
The Treatment Center espouses the 12 steps, and while the daily on-site meetings are optional, most residents choose to attend them. And for those who find AA lacking in religious content, The Treatment Center offers a special Christian treatment track called Road To Freedom that employs three staff pastors as part of a spiritual care team. All faith-based meetings are entirely optional, and clients who are on the regular 12-step track are also invited to sit in.
Fortunately, the preference for religious doesn’t correspond to a lack of clinical rigor or holistic open-mindedness. Clients in both program tracks receive regular group and individual therapy, including treatment for dual diagnoses like anxiety or depression. Full medical detox is available for those in need, and the staff has a strong medical background. Addicts suffering from chronic pain will benefit from a special non-narcotic Chronic Pain program that emphasizes holistic therapies like medical massage, acupuncture and chiropractic care.
By all accounts, the staff techs exude hospitality and understanding. Residents can call home two or three times per week for up to an hour. Using the internet is not allowed, but there’s plenty of time to watch TV. The Treatment Center also provides special services for the many addicts and alcoholics who have become entangled in legal difficulties. Through the Court Liaison program, experts help clients manage their legal needs.
Extras
While there is no swimming pool on site, there is a gym and plenty of outdoor space for walking or playing volleyball. Yoga and Tai Chi are popular holistic treatment activities as well. As residents progress through their treatment, they gain more privileges, and those who have advanced to the top of the access ladder can go shopping, take trips to the beach or the bowling alley, and attend off-site worship or 12-step meetings.
After residential treatment, clients can move to the outpatient “GO” program, which is mostly based on process groups and 12-step education. The Treatment Center also offers a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), as well as a separate facility for teens between the ages of 14 and 17.
In Summary
The Treatment Center is a solid option for people seeking a comfortable, compassionate, spiritually-driven rehab. While it may not offer the level of luxury or individualized care found at pricier rehabs in out treatment center reviews, it does provide considerable comfort and flexibility.
