Stanislaus Recovery CenterStanislaus Recovery Center Review

Founded in 2002, the Stanislaus Recovery Center is a residential rehab in California’s Central Valley that addresses substance abuse and co-occurring disorders with residential and outpatient programs. Open only to Stanislaus County residents, the facility is committed to providing affordable addiction services at one convenient location.

Accommodations and Food

Residential treatment is provided at a coed recovery center that functions as a medical unit rather than a home. Located in the quiet town of Ceres, near Modesto, the unit holds a maximum of 30 residents, and each room is double-occupancy. Meals are catered by the culinary services division of Howard Training Center, a nonprofit organization in Modesto that trains and employs developmentally-disabled adults. The menu is set in advance and any specific dietary requests must be accompanied by a doctor’s note. The type of food is varied, and always includes a protein, starch, fruit and vegetables.

Treatment and Staff

Stanislaus Recovery Center’s residential program is designed for clients with a relapse history and/or those who have been resistant to treatment in the past. The typical stay is around 30 days. The co-occurring and substance abuse residential tracks both focus on encouraging responsible behavior so that when clients leave the homes, they are equipped to stay sober. Twelve-step meetings are offered on the premises and residents must participate, as this is a critical part of the recovery program.

Other treatment methods include group therapy, individual therapy, CBT and DBT. Treatment for those with co-occurring disorders is highly individualized to ensure each person’s needs are met. Residents are each assigned a therapist, case manager and psychiatrist.

Once residents have completed treatment, they have the option of stepping down to either an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)or day program. The day program runs from 9 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday, and the IOP runs from 9 am to 9 pm Monday through Friday. Individual therapy is offered at least once a week and group therapy every day along with 12-step meetings. Aftercare process groups are also available for free to all adults who have completed the residential or outpatient programs. These groups are offered two to three times per week.

Staff at Stanislaus Recovery Center includes registered nurses, psychiatric social workers and drug and alcohol counselors. Staff members are on the premises of the residential unit 24 hours a day. A psychiatrist meets clients at least once a week and is always on-call for any unexpected needs.

Extras

In addition to treatment, all clients are taught life skills classes, including parenting, vocational and educational skills.

In Summary

Stanislaus Recovery Center is a structured and supportive facility appropriate for substance abusers in need of immediate acute care and those who want something less intense than residential treatment, like intensive outpatient therapy. The rehab accepts most insurance and also accepts payment on a sliding scale, which makes it a viable option for anyone in the central California area looking for comprehensive substance abuse treatment in a quiet and welcoming environment.
