Seaside Palm BeachSeaside Palm Beach Review

Seaside Palm Beach is a luxury and executive treatment offering from rehab group Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches. Seaside is no newcomer to the recovery market as they launched in Palm Beach 15 years ago (founder Dr. Don Mullaney died in 2002). What makes it unique, however, is that it has its own addiction-related R&D department to come up with new, cutting-edge treatment models.

Accommodations and Food

Seaside Palm Beach maintains intimate housing. The residential treatment facility has 18 beds available in private and semi-private varieties with queen-size beds and modern, generally tasteful interior decor; there’s also an outdoor pool and a small elevator in the house. Laptops and phones aren’t just allowed, they’re encouraged; pets are allowed as well. There is on-site housekeeping, a laundry team and on-site chefs who prepare gourmet meals with a focus on nutrition and seafood.

Treatment and Staff

Seaside Palm Beach takes a bio-psycho-social approach to addiction, and also has support for co-occurring disorders. They offer medically-assisted detox, 24-hour nursing care and a good balance of individual therapy and group therapy. Treatment offerings are varied and include equine therapy, yoga, meditation, EMDR, chiropractic care, acupuncture, spiritual advice and biofeedback.

Seaside also has somewhat more esoteric offerings, namely energy therapy (dealing with auras and chakras), light/sound neurotherapy (similar to biofeedback) and craniosacral therapy. Still, despite the slew of options blending Eastern and Western thought, this isn’t a non-12 step program. At heart, Seaside Palm Beach is still firmly AA-based, and residents can expect to go to plenty of meetings.

The staff is composed of a variety of board-certified addiction specialists, physicians’ assistants (though there are no on-site or consulting physicians), nurses and ample therapists for a staff-to-client ratio of roughly one-to-two.

Extras

In addition to the aforementioned therapies, there’s a lot of recreation available—namely golfing, swimming, trips to town or the movies—as well as an extensive alumni network to take advantage of after treatment has ended.

In Summary

Seaside Palm Beach has plenty of treatment options, is adequately staffed and deserves respect for their forward-thinking approach to developing new treatment methods.  If cutting-edge treatment is a priority, executives are likely to find it here.
