As a division of Oklahoma Mental Health Council, Red Rock Behavioral Health Services provides comprehensive outpatient treatment services to adults and adolescents struggling with addiction, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Since its founding in 1974, it has grown to providing care in 14 counties in Oklahoma.

Treatment and Staff

The first step in treatment is an assessment facilitated by a psychologist. Red Rock treats individuals with a primary diagnosis of substance abuse and addiction and accommodates co-occurring disorders with treatment by a psychiatrist. Counselors are assigned and individualized treatment plans are developed.

Typically, clients attend one weekly individual sessions with one to two group sessions per week. Groups use CBT and topics include addiction studies, building self-esteem, developing hobbies, introduction to the 12-steps, trauma therapy, grief, and managing stress and depression. In addition, a family group is available to those who are interested.

Attendance at AA/NA meetings is recommended though not required. While Red Rock does not have an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), clients requiring a more intensive treatment track are provided with additional group and individual sessions.

The adolescent program is for clients under the age of 17 and parental consent must be obtained. After an assessment, the client is assigned a primary therapist with whom they meet weekly. An adolescent group meets on Tuesdays from 4 pm to 6 pm. Family group is mandatory for the adolescent program and, as with the adult outpatient, AA/NA meetings are suggested for outside support.

The treatment team at Red Rock includes psychologists, MFTs, CSACs and psychiatrists. Group size is limited to 10 individuals. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 5 pm and Friday from 8 am until 4 pm.

Extras

Red Rock provides two crisis units for individuals experiencing drug-induced hallucinations or suicidal thoughts. There is also a crisis center for adolescents with severe mental illness.

In Summary

Red Rock employs a highly qualified treatment team with a broad range of experience. With multiple locations statewide, the outpatient track is an ideal option for individuals who must fulfill the obligations of their daily lives while starting on the road to recovery.
