The Basics
Recovery Concepts Addiction Counseling Services is a substance abuse treatment program located in Bedford, Pennsylvania that offers outpatient counseling using individualized plans developed by addiction professionals. The organization treats addiction by helping clients to view their recovery as a “process, rather than an event” through education, evaluations and counseling services.
Treatment and Staff
Prior to treatment, clients undergo an assessment to determine their unique needs and develop the individualized treatment plan. Once accepted into the Recovery Concepts program, clients meet with their counselor a minimum of once per week for individual sessions using CBT. The frequency and type of group therapy depends upon the client’s treatment plan but clients typically attend at least two group sessions a week that have a 12-step focus.
Addiction education seminars and groups are also offered to clients and their families to better understand the nature of chemical dependency and how to navigate through addiction and recovery. Random drug tests and Breathalyzers are also administered to help clients meet their goal of being substance-free.
Staff includes LPCs, LADCs and one LSW.
Extras
In addition to their outpatient program and counseling services, Recovery Concepts offers DUI services. This program includes a substance abuse evaluation to determine whether the need for treatment is necessary as well as education groups and treatment plans.

Recovery Concepts’ outpatient treatment program provides affordable, individualized recovery tracks following the disease model of addiction. Using the 12-step philosophy and CBT, trained counselors guide clients through the process of recovery in group and one-on-one sessions. Individuals with a high risk of relapse may find this program light on structure, but the dedicated staff aim to meet clients where they are. Pregnant women and individuals currently addicted to injectable drugs are given a special priority for admittance.
