Another highlight of Prominence that makes it stands out from most other Malibu rehabs is that it is non-12-step based. Prominence promotes something called Positive Approach Therapy over AA because it supports the notion that AA “reinforces the negative views that many individuals have of themselves.”

A holistic approach to treatment is available and highly encouraged at Prominence, the goal being to treat the whole person rather than just the addiction. Treatment plans combine the hard science of CBT with a host of softer methods including art and music therapy, yoga, acupuncture, and equine therapy.
