Accommodations and Food
The 20-bed detox unit is the only non-medical detoxification facility in Boulder and was built with the client’s comfort in mind. Shared rooms in the sleek, state-of-the-art facility feature twin-sized beds, dressers and plenty of natural light. The building also includes therapy rooms and offices. Three meals a day are provided and can be eaten in the dining hall or in the client’s room. Smoking is permitted in designated areas only.
Treatment and Staff
Mental Health Partners offers a non-medical detox, in addition to a variety of outpatient services for both adults and adolescents. The treatment approach addresses substance abuse issues and co-occurring disorders. Length of time spent in treatment depends on the individual.
The adult outpatient program offers individual therapy, group therapy, psychiatric evaluations, medication monitoring, case management and referrals. Group therapy includes gender-specific groups and covers topics such as relapse prevention, parenting, self-esteem and coping skills. The specialized women’s services help with prenatal care, childcare, transportation, maternity clothing and baby supplies.
The Halcyon School is an adolescent day program for those in grades seven to 12 who are facing drug or alcohol charges in the juvenile justice system. This program provides state-certified educators who teach each grade level. Additionally, it involves group, individual and family therapy and an alcohol and drug educational curriculum.
There is also a treatment program for teens ages 12-17 who are struggling with drugs and alcohol. The services offered include a variety of therapies, and clients are exposed to recreation, music, the arts, healthy living and volunteerism.
The staff includes CSACs, psychiatric nurses, therapists and doctors.
Extras
The DUI program offers education and therapy to clients who have been convicted of impaired driving. Mental Health Partners’ Journeys Employment Services offers support to match clients with employment opportunities. Services include help with resume writing and interview skills and with building a professional wardrobe.
