Accommodations and Food
The living setup is comparable to a hospital, with separate floors for adults and adolescents. Each client is assigned a very basic room and bath to share with one other person. The rest of the building follows a somewhat sterile aesthetic, with modest furniture and very little color. There is a TV in the common room but other forms of electronics such as laptops and cellphones are prohibited.

Once a client has completed a multidisciplinary assessment, both substance abuse and co-occurring mental health issues are treated through individual counseling, group therapy, family therapy, life skills and the 12 steps. Clients can spend several hours per day discussing group topics such as processing, life skills, trauma and nutrition while receiving individual attention twice a week. There is a strong emphasis on relapse prevention during both group and individual therapy.
Attendance at daily on-site 12-step meetings is required while weekly educational groups allow clients to better understand the 12 steps and abstinence-based lifestyle. Temporary sponsorship is another crucial part of this program, allowing residents to begin following the 12 steps while having sober support and understanding.
