Holoman Halfway House Review
Holoman Halfway House is a part of the Bedford Stuyvesant Alcohol Treatment Center, which provides residential care, outpatient care and transitional sober living housing in Brooklyn, New York. Clients have access to the resources and cultural wonderland of the metropolitan New York area while maintaining a safe and sober atmosphere to aid in their recovery and healing.
Accommodations and Food
Sleeping quarters for HHH residents are located in the same building as treatment. The coed residences are on the first floor, with 20 beds for men and four beds for women; treatment and therapy are on the second floor. Clients share a room with one other person; each client has a twin bed, cabinet and bedside table.
There are no electronic devices allowed but there is a common room with a TV and a computer that can be used during free time. Meals are served three times a day and typically consist of basic healthy options—breakfast has fruit, eggs, toast, or cereal, lunch is sandwiches or salad, and dinner usually has a meat or fish dish, a vegetable dish, and a pasta or grain option of some kind.
Treatment and Staff
HHH offers residential long-term (more than 30 days) and outpatient treatment. Clients in both programs must go through an initial assessment to determine an individualized treatment plan that caters to their specific needs.
Individual therapy is scheduled between counselor and client and group therapy sessions are held several times throughout the day. Clients are encouraged to attend 12-step meetings as a supplement to their treatment at HHH. Dual-diagnosis treatment and medication management are also offered and, while HHH does not have detox services, Suboxone is prescribed to treat symptoms associated with opioid addiction.
Group therapy is more than once a day and individual therapy is at least twice a week. Although 12-step methodology is the primary treatment path, CBT is also used.
The staff at HHH consists of CADCs, Master’s-level therapists and registered nurses.

In addition to their treatment programs, HHH offers referral services for sober living environments to clients who successfully complete their program.

Although the Holoman Halfway House is by no means a luxury rehab, their quality treatment programs make them a solid choice for those seeking affordable treatment for addiction—either inpatient or outpatient. HHH provides an individualized treatment plan supervised by experienced and caring professionals.
