In order to stay, residents are required to either work, go to school or volunteer for 32 hours a week. Clients eat dinner together every night, and the facility conducts frequent mandatory alcohol and drug tests.
Ohlhoff incorporates a holistic treatment approach that includes an array of therapeutic methods. As a 12-step based facility, residents work with a 12-step sponsor and participate in a minimum of four meetings a week. Clients engage in weekly individual sessions and twice-weekly group sessions. Ohlhoff offers psychoeducation courses that focus on the disease of addiction, life in sobriety and relapse prevention techniques.
Before leaving Ohlhoff Recovery, residents take part in a lengthy discharge planning group. Clients establish a network for continued support that will sustain them during the transition into regular life.
