Darke County Recovery Services Review
Located on the outskirts of Dayton, Ohio, Darke County Recovery Services provides recovery and wellness services at two locations for those suffering from substance abuse and addiction. A state-certified outpatient agency, DCRS serves Darke, Miami and Preble counties, offering mental health, psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment for adults and their families.
Treatment and Staff
The substance abuse program at DCRS begins with an evaluation performed by a doctor and psychiatric team, after which an individualized treatment plan is formulated. The highly-individualized program consists of one to three sessions a week, for 26 weeks. Clients are expected to continue until they complete their treatment plan. Those clients who require additional support are free to continue treatment once a week or once a month until they feel they have a strong enough foundation for recovery.
Treatment consists of a combination of two-hour individual and three-hour group counseling sessions. Dual diagnosis support for those with co-occurring disorders is available from doctors, psychiatrists and nurses and includes medication management and therapy. Groups are very small—often only five to seven individuals. Specialized groups are available for adolescents ages 13 to 17 and women. Clients are also strongly encouraged to attend 12-step meetings and work with a sponsor in addition to treatment.
Extras
Intervention services, along with prevention, education and consultation, are offered for clients and their families. Additionally, co-dependency counseling and services for adult children of alcoholics (ACOA) are also available.
