Care Addiction Treatment ProgramCare Addiction Treatment Program Review

Care Addiction Treatment Program aims to provide affordable, long-term residential as well as Intensive Outpatient (IOP)care. The program has a strong foundation in the 12 steps, providing clients with a rigorous schedule of therapy, life skills and education. In addition to dealing with substance abuse, co-occurring disorders are also treated here.

Accommodations and Food

The 28-bed facility for men and women in Geneva, a far western suburb of Chicago, accommodates clients in a residential home, with modest bedrooms and baths split between two people. Each room contains two twin-sized beds, carpeting and dresser space. The house also features a living room with a television, a full kitchen and dining room. During downtime, clients are welcome to have a snack or watch their favorite show from the living room couch.

Clients are transported each day to the main facility, just a short drive away. The therapy rooms are set up in an office space, providing plenty of comfortable seating. While the facility does not offer extensive amenities, clients can visit a local gym in the morning and on-site yoga classes are held several times a week.

Meals are prepared in the home by the residents themselves. Each week, they make supervised trips to the grocery with an included weekly allowance. Items such as caffeine and sugar are allowed.

Treatment and Staff

The residential program typically lasts for 90 days, with the 12 steps supplemented with individual therapy once a week, group work, educational lectures and relapse prevention. Group topics include processing, trauma, introduction to the 12 steps, anger management, family dynamics and life skills. There is no on-site detox, but clients can be referred to a local facility before starting the program.

A typical day at Care Addiction Treatment Program starts with breakfast at 7 am followed by individual and group therapy until lunch at noon. After lunch, educational lectures and more group therapy take place followed by free time to read, watch television or take a walk. Dinner begins at 5:30 pm followed by free time again and an on-site AA/NA meeting. After eating, clients can participate in meditation, TV time or relaxing in the room before lights out at 10 pm.

During the family weekend, family members can come into the facility for individual therapy with the client, group therapy and educational lectures.

Once clients have completed residential treatment, they can transition into an IOP that offers individual and group therapy and costs $3,600 per month.

Extras

An added bonus of this program is the complimentary aftercare. Each client who completes the residential program is offered group therapy and support on a weekly basis.

In Summary

This program offers a structured, no frills approach to sobriety. From long-term residential to outpatient, clients can be assured that they will be taken care of during each step of their recovery phase.
